The Sims 4: Intriguing Showers

Pinstar was able to play The Sims 4 during The Sims 4 Creators Camp, and reading about their Pinstar Legacy Challenge experience  intrigued me by the following info sneak-peek:

And let me tell you about showers: They play a pretty big role in the Sims 4, and not just with hygiene. So at base your sim can “Take a shower” “Take a brisk shower” “Take a steamy shower” and “Take a Thoughtful shower”. Just plain taking a shower is the fastest in terms of just getting your hygiene up.

A brisk shower only fills your hygene halfway but is very quick and it leaves your Sim with an “Energized” moodlet. Energized is one of the emotions. A steamy shower leaves them in with a flirty moodlet. A thoughtful shower takes MUCH longer than normal and very slowly satisfies hygiene, but leaves them with the inspired moodlet. After all, we all do our best thinking in the shower.

As a funny side note, if your Sim is flirty already when they go to use the shower, they get the option to take a ‘cold shower’ which takes them OUT of the flirty mood.

No more Evil/Extreme Showers from The Sims 3! There is finally a difference! Their legacy challenge article is full of interesting spoilers about The Sims 4’s bills and other basic things. I really enjoyed reading all the bits and pieces of information Pinstar encountered during their first game session with The Sims 4!

Into The Future – Gallery and More!

Yes! The final The Sims 3 expansion pack Into The Future Is here! It’s been here for a few days now as it released on the 22nd of October :)!
My Sims are very excited about all the new technologies which reinvent how they make things they are used to making. I was stoked about the electronic easel and new baby items (just a few baby items but wow!). All the new sculptures are breathtaking and combining modern architecture and plants was a great idea by ea.

The furniture looks great! All those Movies’ superheroes and villains will be able to have proper housing now! The furniture goes very well together with the last stuff pack.
I love the fact that you can leave for your Into The Future adventure, and just stay there. You can meet your descendants or get lost in the wasteland, searching for the piles of junk your Sim will excavate for some Robot scrap, or just to hunt for some unique, electronic, wild mini-robots 🙂 My filthy rich descendants didn’t want to talk to me when I needed them too! That pesky bourgeoisie of the future… I am glad they don’t look like NPC clones, as they are customized by genetics of your current family!

I have not yet explored the alternate futures, as plumbots turned out to be more than I bargained for! I did not watch any of the video footage, just to save the best for the last expansion pack, and was I in for a surprise! My robots seem to have a “natural” desire to become more human like, but I can just as well ignore that and make them an office drone, to do my bidding, as my lazy Sims spend their hard earned money. Technically it would be my Sim’s money that the robot made, so it’s all good and valid as an excuse to buy your own robot from the plumbot store!

I love the little “sprites”, which are holographic little “pets”; pokemon sort a thing. As your advanced technology skill progresses you unlock new forms for the little buggers. I like that the game gives you the illusion of them having to be taken care of, and the Sim-to-Sim, Sprite-to-Sprite interaction was just too cute! I just had to give away some of them to my friends, to make sure my little one would have friends of his own to talk to. Two Sims need to have sprites in order for the to communicate with one another.
It’s all fun and games but the customizing of plumbots took up the majority of my time, as did their romance and customization!

Here is a plumbot I’m particularly proud of and a gallery of Into The Future from my gameplay!

Here you will find lots about robot love and more!

First Impressions Review on Island Paradise

I haven’t had a chance to become a mermaid yet. My current Scuba Diving is level 1 and my Sims cannot dive on any dive lots. Every diving spot is considered “too dangerous”. I am stuck on snorkeling and taking care of my 3 teens (they’re so much trouble!). I think that the plants look amazing and so is CAS, although the female clothes aren’t your typical beach attire; more of a summer mix; some people call it Caribbean. The world seems far more open now that the waters are made accessible to my Sims, and I love to send them to swim around and gather seashells. I LOVE the ugly swan boat. It’s epic. Relaxing on turtle towels? Awesome. Better yet, read a book, take a nap or roll over to expose more skin to the sun, and that handsome life guard (never seen one on duty lol), and you might as well add a sun umbrella to your beach towel (default option while relaxing on the beach).

I am disappointed though, that we cannot just “swim around” in a boat and gain entertainment for our Sims (WRONG there is an option I just found it!). The same goes for houseboats. I was looking forward to letting my Sims paddle around for fun. First thing I did after I built my houseboat (meaning spent all my Sims’ money and it wasn’t finished), was woohoo in the new bathroom. Hey, at least it’s what they wanted to do 😉

Oh, also, I wish they included a full bedroom furniture set. It’s missing a wardrobe. There are no kitchen items and… Searching for paintings I only found 1 poster. Beautiful lights for your resort! Two specific – modern and Spanish – take up an entire height of one floor. Very impressive. Another impressive thing – customizable boats, and editing your houseboat’s template with create-a-style. Now you can put that Hawaiian print everywhere.

The town is divided into 2 main islands and there are Rabbit Holes which were placed on islands of their own; the criminal cave (looks great!) and the science facility. Some people complain about not being able to get around the island quickly enough. I believe it’s because the cheap boats are slower than a water taxi and really shouldn’t be used for long distances. The map is really big. There are at least 5 hidden islands, some minor, unoccupied and the two, large main islands where the town center is located.

I get easily sidetracked in this expansion pack as when I spent one night at a resort, I didn’t even get a chance to buy a drink! Instead I asked about good places for diving and adventures! I can’t wait to learn scuba-diving well enough, to start diving at the special locations, and look for treasure! I’m having a lot of fun upgrading my houseboat’s control station; 2/3 options are speed boost and foghorn, which sounds reaaally good!

A gallery of Commercial and Residential Lots will be coming soon!

Cruising! – picking a random destination for my boat by left-clicking my mouse button… Looking good!

Nothing to see here! Just my detective breaking into the Prince household. (Ambitions career)

A view from the cabin.

Snorkeling around the boat while my 3 teens are asleep – it’s the only time I can relax.
