Lilium Mansion – Details

Having put a lot of thought into Lilium Mansion I thought I’d showcase some details I like to mess around with. It will be nice to look back on some of them, especially since The Sims 4 will be coming to pc/mac this year. The Sims 3 will always be remembered in my heart for the amazing customization! I’m still very excited for Tropico 5, as I hope to play it with my husband (who is not much of a city builder gamer but he is intrigued by the game, given I’ve played every mission and dlc available for it). Tropico 5 will be coming out “early summer” while The Sims 4 is coming out in “fall” which can range from either September to December.

Let’s get off the rant and onto the details 😀

^I love to use the themed floral patterns to create the illusion of china. Using the same color with different variations across similar patterns provides more visual interest in the room!

^Transfer a pattern onto multiple objects to link them together visually

^Here I tried to create a visual interest on a wall, where no furniture could be placed due to space limitations. I wanted to create a “color collage” which would provide visual interest, but all these objects would feature only 2 colors which would match the rest of the room.

^I also like to match a pattern to the geometry of the wallpaper. Here a themed Halloween wallpaper seems to have been made for the paneling. The bats are centered perfectly on every of the wood panels. This provides more texture for the otherwise smooth wallpaper theme.

^Wedding arches can create a romantic passage in your garden. Hold ALT while placing the object in build/buy mode to place it off the grid, anywhere you want.

^I created my very own playground in the backyard. Tuck your benches into the shrubbery to shift the focus in your garden. The iron adorned benches create an edge where the playground ends. Use repetition to create more interest. Painting the ground in different textures really brings your gardens to life!

^Define your outdoor dining space and make your own bar with half walls, pillars and some roof above your head. Use “moveobjects on” to get those columns on the edge of a half wall.
